Calcaire saturated./ Youthful fruit plumpness smooths over the terroir‛s grip and texture for now. No problem. Rest it a few more weeks. Good, fruity aftertaste. 16.8+.
WT103019-02. 18 SANCERRE COTE DES EMBOUFFANTS, DOMAINE ROGER NEVEU - (FRANCE LOIRE) 13%; at Verdigny. Different. More fruit, and green fruit it is. More explicit fruit expression./ Wow, full of green tropics flavors. Oh, very intensely fruity indeed. Large charge. Mouthfilling. 17.4.
WT103019-03. 17 CHABLIS FOURCHAUME 1ER CRU, DOMAINE MOUTARD - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 12%. A racy, lithe take./ Medium body and flavor intensity. A bit underwhelming for a Premier Cru. Lacks Premier Cru distinction and body. Will it achieve its rightful fortitude with more bottle age.? 16.3+.
WT103019-04. 17 BOURGOGNE CHAUMES DES PERRIERES, DOMAINE RAYMOND DUPONT-FAHN - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 13%. Superb fruit of 17 in full display. Plus walnut husk, a mark of distinction. Wow./ 17 weight, plumpness. Dupont-Fahn character. Builds and builds in texture, weight, depth, and breadth. In Meursault amplitude and personality. 17.4+.
WT103019-05. 18 BROUILLY GRAND CRU REVERDON, CHATEAU THIVIN - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 13%; est. 1877. Rich and racy. Bright and spontaneous. Spicy berries. Sweet and peppery. Really Grand Cru concentrated, and at the same time, Brouilly lifted./ Full flavor. Richness, race, acidity, even glycerol. Wow! Loaded. Ageworthy. 17.4+.
WT103019-06. 18 MORGON GRAND CRU, DOMAINE MARCEL LAPIERRE - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 13.5%.Sprawling Morgon cherry, spicy, sweetness. Large and dynamic./ Big, but backward. Tannic and close. Long finish. Sure cellar candidate. Attendees appreciated its magnitude and didn‛t mind the tannins present. Many orders taken. 17.6+.
WT103019-07. 17 SANCERRE ROUGE, DOMAINE HIPPOLYTE REVERDY - (FRANCE LOIRE) 11-14%. Light to medium color intensity, which if perfectly correct for vintage and genre./ Oh, sweet and racy, crunchy cherry take on northern pinot noir. Not a bit green or herbal. Perfect degree of ripeness for Sancerre rouge. I mean, PERFECT./ Racy acid and ripe fruit richness. Ideal, really. And well priced. 17.2.
WT103019-08. 18 PATRICIA GREEN RESERVE WILLAMETTE VALLEY PINOT NOIR - (U.S. WEST COAST) 13.7%. Cool and crisp and fully ripe. Great acid spiel, oak, plump cherry fruit./ Yes, OR pinot fine acid, dark fruit, extract, and fine tannin. Light oak patina. All here, and all coming together. 16.9+.
WT103019-09. 16 MERCUREY CLOS DES BARRAULTS 1ER CRU, DOMAINE MICHEL JUILLOT - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 13.5%. Wow! 16 at its best. Great oak. Mercurey dark cherry. No 16 edge, resistance. Sweet cherry and oak. 16 gives race./ Sweet and racy both, with nice oak touch. Distinct from the 2015, and fully worthy. Balanced and long. 17.5+.
WT103019-10. 17 DAVIS BYNUM RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR - (FRANCE WEST COAST) 14.5%; aged 1 year in French and Hungarian oak barrels. Used to be Jane‛s Vineyard. Woody, powerful, sweet. A bit frank and forceful for RRV pinot, but it delivers plenty of goods./ Woody, sweet fruited, tannic. A little shy on the spiciness I cherish in RRV pinot, but certainly giving. 16.6+.
WT103019-11. 15 CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA, FATTORIA VITICCIO - (ITALY) 13.5%; Wine Spectator 95/100. Sweet 15 fruit and plenty of barrel impact of a riserva. Spicy, oaky, balanced, and giving./ Yes, power, fruit, oak, balance. Melted tannins enveloped by 15 rich fruit. 17.2.
WT103019-12. 16 COTES DU RHONE LES QUATRE TERRES, DOMAINE SANTA DUC - (FRANCE MEDITERRANEAN) 14.5%. Nice, full, strong, spicy, racy, broad, and deep. Balanced and intense, with definite Santa Duc hallmarks./ Proper body and flavor intensity, with 16 raciness. Alcohol warmth gives padding to its 2016 structure. Good stuff.. 16.6+.
WT103019-13. 16 PIC SAINT LOUP LA CLOSERIE DU PIC, CHATEAU PUECH HAUT - (FRANCE MEDITERRANEAN) 15%. Heavy Bottle Award, and Heavy Hitter Award. Off the charts power and intensity. Practically the impact of a fortified wine. Ripe and spicy, lifting oak complex. Extra deep./ Fully, ripe, sweet, strong, flavorful. Loaded. Overwhelming. Wild boar wine. 16.7+.
WT103019-14. 16 ITALIA VINUM ITALICUM OPERA NO.3, TINAZZI - (ITALY) 15%. Sweetness balanced by strength, so though it‛s big, it‛s also under control.. Good and plentiful fruit. Well crafted. I mean this amalgam of Veneto and Puglia fruit works./ Not overly sweet fruited either. Proper balancing acidity, tannin. Take it to the table this winter. 16.8.
WT103019-15. FERREIRA 10 YEAR OLD TAWNY PORTO - (FORTIFIED) 20%; bottled in 2018. Good, sweet, strong, and balanced, even in my Taster Glass, which usually exaggerates the alcohol. Fine fruit - barrel age combo. Fruitier than many Portuguese house‛s 10 year olds./ Yes, sweet fruited, balanced by long in oak dry savor. A commendable 10 year old tawny. 17.5.

WT100919-01. 17 CHATEAU DE FONTENILLE, ENTRE DEUX MERS - (FRANCE BORDEAUX) 12.5%; 40% sauvignon blanc, 20% each sauvignon gris, muscadelle, semillon. Good nose: intense, rich, variegated for its varietal complexity. Sauvignon gris spiciness comes forth. One of the best vintages of this./ Satisfying body.. Good flow, spice, vigor, acid. 16.7.
WT100919-02. 16 YORKVILLE ESTATE AMBER FOLLY RANDLE HILL VYD YORKVILLE HIGHLANDS SEMILLON - (U.S. WEST COAST) 13%; skin fermented by indigenous yeasts; aged 6 months in seasoned French barrels. Amber color and character for sure. On purpose. This works./ Dry and even a little tannic from the skin soak. Full body and texture of an orange wine. Shows the way. Begs for food. 16.2.
WT100919-05. 18 COLLINES DE LA MOURE ROSE, OMBRE - (ROSE) 12.5%. Fresh and uplifting. Both crispness and padding. At a good stage./ Yes, well padded. Lithe in taste, body, and texture. Come hither; easy to assimilate. 16.3.
WT100919-06. 18 COTES DU ROUSSILLON ROSE, CHATEAU MOSSE - (ROSE ) 13%; 62% grenache, 38% syrah. Still some fermentation apple blossom along with intense, sweet, bright fruit./ Accomplished Rousillon rose richness. 16.2+.
WT100919-07. 18 AIRFIELD ESTATE LONE BIRCH YAKIMA VALLEY ROSE - (ROSE) 13.3%. Pretty raspberry nose. New World direct./ Bright, emphatic, and fruity. Good. 15.7.
WT100919-08. 18 DOLCETTO D'ALBA, AZ. VITI. PAOLO SCAVINO - (ITALY) 13.5%. Scavino sweet fruited, bright, and immediate. My style of dolcetto./ Yeah, sweet and forward. Good acid. Fine tannin keeps it ‛serious‛. 16.7.
WT100919-10. 17 CHINON LES MORINIERES, JOSEPH MELLOT - (FRANCE LOIRE) 13%; vineyard on clay and limestone. Rather close and tart to start, but true to its cherry-suggestive name. Nose sweetens up with aeration./ Dry and tannic on entry. Fruit character and padding come on. Good ager. 16.4+.0
WT100919-11. 16 MONTEPULCIANO D'ABRUZZO RISERVA DAL TRALCETTO, AZ. AGR. CICCIO ZACCAGNINI - (ITALY) 13%. Yes, barrel influence of a riserva fully evident here as always. More barrel time than barrel extracts. Sweet and deep monte raspberry and violets notes./ Sweet and satisfying full. Confident and comfortable as usual. Balancing acidity for food. Old steady. 16.5.
WT100919-12. 17 CAMPANIA AGLIANICO LA CAPRANERA, SAN SALVATORE - (ITALY) 14%. Wow, intense aglianico cherry and tar. Pushy, surging, insistent. And deep./ Balance of richness, dryness, acidity, and tannin. Plentiful flavor. A bargain. Bravo. 16.7.
WT100919-13. 17 COTES DU RHONE VIEILLES VIGNES, DOMAINE DE L'ESPIGOUETTE - (FRANCE MEDITERRANEAN) 14%. Dark fruited, full fruited. Good dryness and 17 give./ Dry and a bit close in youth. Sweet interior. Age it further, or decant vigorously. 16.3+.
WT100919-14. 17 ALSACE GEWURZTRAMINER, THE FURST - (FRANCE ALSACE) 13.5%. Gewurz rose and ginger aromas../ Plenty of varietal character pushes through, though youth constrains its potential gewurztraminer abundance. 16.3++.
WT100919-15. BRETAGNE POIRE LE BRUN, CIDRES BIGOUD - (FRUIT) 4%. Oh, good and pure and dry and penetrating and fresh. Yes!/ Yes, indeed, sweet fruit that is made drier by the presence of a light measure of CO2. Full and pure pear flavor. What it‛s all about, at a bargain price. 17.0.

WT100219-02. 18 VENEZIE PINOT GRIGIO, CANTINA RIFF - PROGETTO LAGEDER - (ITALY) 12.5%. Crisp, clear, cool, bright./ Cool and flowing. Inviting for aperitif or meal-time applications. 16.3.
WT100219-03. 18 SAUMUR BLANC LES POUCHES, CAVE DE SAUMUR - (FRANCE LOIRE) 13%; chenin blanc. Cool melon, apple, and quince Loire chenin aromas. Depth too. Near perfect example of its genre./ Full and flavorful. Best vintage yet? 16.6.

WT100219-07. 2018 TOSCANA ROSSO UNLITRO, SOC. AGR AMPELEIA liter - (ITALY) 12%; alicante bouschet, grenache, carignan. Still introverted./ I‛m afraid I‛ve opened this too young and travel-shocked. Will need to wait a few weeks before assessing it again. Patience, please. 15.0++.

Not this 2018. Awesome delivery already and vigorous spiciness./ Yes, both ripe and racy. Complete cabernet franc red raspberry and brambly seeds peppery nature. 17.1.
WT100219-10. 17 VINA VENTISQUERO ROOT 1 ESTATE MAIPO VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON - (CHILE) 13%. Oh, deep, dark, classic Maipo pre-phylloxera cabernet black currant emphasis. Purple, sweet, deep./ Yes, both sweet and savory. Full flavor profile of Maipo cabernet sauvignon. What a deal! 16.9.
