Nothing superficial about it./ Cremes alluring. Not sticky or sloppy. Oak and power in harmony for framing and filling and sense of completeness. The best facets of Lodi zinfandel. 16.4.

And perhaps a couple weeks‛ more bottle age, as there are fermentation aromatic residuals yet./ Yes, the fruit is dark, and the wine will improve steadily into the holiday season. True to the style of past Rodet Nouveaux. 16.0+

The wildly popular ‛yellow rooster‛ Nouveau also would appreciate a couple more weeks in bottle to resolve its ‛banana and bubble gum‛ fermentation leftovers. Still, it‛s fresh and full of fruit, and seems larger, broader, and deeper than all that have come before. Comes on with aeration; becomes really giving./ Full, rich, textured, complete. 16.7.

And that granite-schist Villages terroir of northern Beaujolais./ Oh, big and juicy. Grand. Just surging forth. Yes! 16.8.

But more backward./ Yes, the biggest in fruit material, texture, and grip. This really deserves decanting and/or a few more weeks in the cellar. Awesome Villages Nouveau. 17.0+.

Full fruited, with spicy-peppery extras as well as herb notes, especially thyme./ Yes, a surge of varietal fruit, herb, and spices flavors. Fine juice, acid, tannin. Paints the complete picture. Stock this one for sure. 16.7.

Merlot softness plus the firmer, darker fruit of the cabernets./ Yes, 2015 sweet and claret delineated, well framed. Some tannin to shed. Will age nicely in the mid term. Well priced. 16.2+.

Merlot cherry emphasis as always here. Open hearted, but also classically formed./ Yes! Sweet cherry flavor, great acid. Long and inviting. Orders taken. 16.3.

Good, rich 2014, competitive and upscale, with barrel time and extract sophistication./ Yes, size, grip, barrel extras, body, texture. Loaded. 16.7+.

WT111418-5. 15 CHATEAU MIQUEU, CRU BOURGEOIS, HAUT MEDOC - (FRANCE BORDEAUX) 12.5%; Ferre & Haut Brignais at Vertheuil. 2015 sweet enough, but more restrained than the above 2015s due to higher cabernet sauvignon content. Young and dark. Sweetens up with aeration to reveal berry, cherry, spice./ Yes, cabernet firm figured. Not as many oak embellishments as in the above pair. Very good, solid, young Haut Medoc claret to put in the cellar. 16.5+.

Open, fruity, spicy, revealing. Comes on even stronger with aeration./ Claret body. Full of good, spicy fruit. Balanced, suave. 16.5+.

The sweetest 2015 yet in this set. Light oak savor./ Yes, rich and full 2015 fruit that‛s delicious, and nicely countered by good acidity and very fine grained tannins. Like the highly rated 2014 of this, first class. 16.6+.

Fine tannin. Rich, round, and spicy finale. Well priced. 17.1+.

Nice 16 textural burnish./ Light malo and oak touches. Balanced, even handed. Pleasing roundness points to current usefulness. Very popular with the group. 16.7.

Lacks the ripeness of the warmer 2015 vintage‛s version of this wine. Cabernet sauvignon grown in this neck of the woods needs the heat./ Yeah, greenish taste too. This received a gold medal. What am I missing? Is it at an awkward stage? 15.3+?

Flairs of oak enter the picture after aeration./ Well, Saint Emilion sweet fruit is evident on the palate. Yet to develop bottle bouquet at age eight. Well priced, but to get the full value, cellar it further. 16.6+.

Is the change of denominacion from La Mancha to Espana part of the story?/ Sweet, cheap, kinda juggy. Too bad. Ends a run of commendable vintages and values here. 14.2.

Shows maturity in both barrel and bottle. Mellow, savory, ready to enjoy, That‛s the beauty of CVC./ Yeah, sweet fruit, and mellow, spicy seasoning from barrel age. Rangy and fully meal worthy. 16.4.
