WT112315A-1. 15 BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU, ALBERT BICHOT - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 12.5%. Always the boisterous extrovert, the most Nouveau-ish of the range. More berry and less banana this vintage. Richer than usual. Tutti-frutti./ Dry and full. Great acid. Even a little tannic grip and dry extract. Wow! Impressive. More than just a quaff. 91+/100.
WT112315A-2. 15 BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU, ANTONIN RODET - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 11-14%. Rich, solid, and dark-fruited as is its nature. Suave. All berry, no banana. Deep purple and black berries./ Yes, well accomplished already. Full, polished. Fine tannins. Great value. 92/100.
WT112315A-3. 15 BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU LE COQ D’OR, DOMAINE CHATELUS - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 13%. Abundant fruit beauties. Completely fulfilled thanks to the early harvest. Suave, sophisticated, lovely./ A touch of banana fermentation flavor yet to shed. Really pushes out the fruit too. This will continue to improve over the coming weeks. 92+/100.

With aeration, becomes an elegant thing of beauty with floral as well as fruity aromas./ Yes, plum and blossom. Distinctive winemaker styles are consistent throughout, and amplified in this great vintage. 92+/100.

Well accomplished, well developed thanks to the early harvest. No banana fermentation odor. All berry. And berry pulp thanks to no filtration./ Ripe, and ready to go. This is wine, not fermented grape juice. Full, meaty, complete. Fine, fruity, youthful, vigorous, all. 93+/100.
WT112315B-11. 14 TWENTY FOUR NAPA VALLEY SAUVIGNON BLANC - (U.S.) 13.5%; by Charles Woodson. Floral, musky. Green musk, musk melon. Clearly some sauvignon musque in the makeup./ Oak becomes evident on the palate. Very powerful impression, even at 13.5%. Unique amongst its Napa sauvignon peers. Food wine. 16.4.

More development and less richness than the 2012 sampled last week. Understandable. Damn good wine too./ With less rich fruit, oak and alcohol stand out more. Dry and powerful. Great at the table. Europhiles in the group preferred the 2011. 16.9.

Fabulous nebbiolo definition and range. Hard to believe it got a Spectator 79. Must have been a mere bud when they tasted it. 16.9+.

Full textured and bold, without the orchard fruit and flowers of the aromatic Alsace varieties./ Full and suave. Big for 12%. Good green fruit flavor. Pinot blanc’s soft acidity. 16.6.

Great vintage for this Gott cuvee, Gott style. Caramel and spice oak influences. Sweet fruit, fine balance. The nose needs aeration and time; the palate reads ‘drink me’. 16.8+.

Balanced and impressive./ Yes, spatlese concentration. Full flavor of Rheinfront riesling, including tangerine, nectarine. Suave, Hessia soft, luxurious. 17.0+.

WT111115-2. 14 MUD HOUSE MARLBOROUGH SAUVIGNON BLANC - (NEW ZEALAND) 13%. Very crisp and racy. More mineral than fruit. Citrus fruit. A lot of citrus peel. Drier than the norm./ Clear canned grapefruit juice taste. Very nice and refreshing. I like this style. 16.7.
WT111115-3. 13 CHATEAU PERRON, GRAVES BLANC - (FRA NCE BORDEAUX) 12%; 50% sauvignon blanc, 40% semillon, 10% muscadelle. Mainly vinous; can’t coax a lot of aromatics out of it. Feel wise, semillon bulk, sauvignon briskness, muscadelle ventilation./ Pleasing body and balance if not a lot of flavor character showing yet. Mealworthy;a lot of our customers would like this at the table. 16.3+.

Schlumberger body and power./ Well, if not a lot of flavor profile, at least body and fullness, mealworthiness. Mild acidity of varietal. Certainly correct. Will improve. 16.3+.
WT111115-5. 13 HOOPES HOOPLA YOUNTVILLE CHARDONNAY - (U.S.) 14.3%. 13 form, presence, strength Good wood, if not the all new oak treatment of the Grand Vin. Classic southern Napa chardonnay./ Wood and fruit in balance. Backwardness of vintage. Good acid and material. Will improve nicely and become showier. 16.5+.
WT111115-6. 09 CHIANTI, DANZANTE - (ITALY) 12.5%. Dried cherry, tar, licorice, hints of leather, autumn leaves. Sweetness of the vintage. At a nice stage. Not as tough and bullish as the 08./ All gritty tannins melted away. Mellow 09, with adequate acidity for balance. A steal. 16.2.
WT111115-7. 12 MORELLINO DI SCANSANO DOGA DELLE CLAVULE, TENUTA CAPARZO - (ITALY) 13%. Warm, mellow, and robust southern Tuscan sangiovese. Dried fruit. Good acid evident even on the nose. Sweet, rounding glycerol of dried fruit. Everything in order./ Fruit flavor, fruit acidity. Dark fruit of 2012. Promise. Altogether good guy. 16.6+.
WT111115-8. KAKHETI SAPERAVI, OLD TBILISI - (GEORGIA) 13%. Youthful color. Bright red violet./ Dark fruited. More vinous than fruity. Good peels extract. I like the presentation./ Good acid. Not a lot of fruit, but plenty of material. Food-worthy. Old time variety and a good rendition of it. Some tannin for aging. For hearty fare. A pleasant surprise, and not sweet like a lot of Eastern European reds. 16.1+.
WT111115-9. 14 NORMA JEAN PASO ROBLES MERLOT - (U.S.) 13.5%; 17th edition. Paso rich and sweet. 2014 fine lines, elegance, fine framing. Not pandering./ Paso sweet. Tutti-frutti. Some age potential. Merlot and Paso together make for a mild mannered wine. It works.. 16.0+.
WT111115-10. 13 MONTSANT MAS DONIS BARRICA OLD VINES, CELLER DE CAPCANES - (SPAIN) 14%. Powerful, full bodied, rangy. Not quite of Priorat grandeur, but for Montsant, this shows a lot of bells and whistles./ Young, but already sweet and revealing. Power rightly contained. 2013 frame. Impressive balance of strength, sweetness, and acid. Understated oak makes a fine seasoning. Long finish. Perfectly proportioned for mealtime
use already. Will likely age very nicely too. Crown achievement. 17.0+.
WT111115-11. 12 CARINENA GARNACHA, CASTILLO DE MONSERAN - (SPAIN) 12.5%. Very fresh at 3 years old. Abundantly fruity. Southern grenache style with high altitude coolness. Bargain price. Straight on and lovely fruit tone./ Some peels dryness and astringency to keep it honest and a good mealtime wine. Consistently attractive value. 16.2.
WT111115-12. 12 WILD HORSE CENTRAL COAST GSM - (U.S.) 13.9%; 23% grenache, 75% syrah, 2% mourvedre. Syrah dark and violet./ Rightful combo. Central Coast nebulous. No peppercorn or garrigue of a good southern Rhone./ Plain Jane, straight on red wine of vinosity. Blurred varietal statements. Sweetish. Now made by men in suits. Commercial. The $10 closeout price is fair. Will likely improve with age. Not bad. 16.1+.
WT111115-13. 11 COTES DU RHONE VIN GOURMAND, DAUVERGNE RANVIER - (FRANCE MEDITERRANEAN) 14%. Now there’s the peppercorn if not the garrigue. More striking Euro acidity. 2011 revealing./ 2D and narrow in aromatic range. Correct; vintage focused. May be in a trough at age 4. Good balance, acid, foodworthiness. Hopefully more complexity to come. 16.0+.
WT111115-14. 11 RASTEAU LES BLOVAC SANTA DUC, YVES GRAS - (FRANCE MEDITERRANEAN) 15%. Big bomber. Black and hearty, full Rasteau. In style with former vintages. Certainly surpasses the volume norm of the vintage. This one goes to eleven. Blockbuster for its mass. And has quite a lot of aromatic interest as well./ Sweet and succulent; wears its alcohol well. A big boy. Very impressive. 17.0+.
WT111115-15. 08 QUINTA DO NOVAL SINGLE VINEYARD UNFILTERED LATE BOTTLED VINTAGE PORTO - (FORTIFIED) 19.5%; est. 1715. Powerful, gripping, 08 dark fruit mass, grip of the gob, Vintage Porto style. Power and dimension; outstanding LBV./ Full plum and elderberry–a multitude of fruits, actually. Grip, penetration, largesse. 18.0+.

WT110415-2. 14 RIAS BAIXAS ALBARINO, VINA CARTIN - (SPAIN) 12.5%. Apple and pear. Soft fruit. Good./ Fresh and brisk. Dry. No padding on palate. Wants food. 16.2.
WT110415-3. 14 VOUVRAY CUVEE DE SILEX DOMAINE DES AUBUISIERES, BERNARD FOUQUET - (FRANCE LOIRE) 12.5%. Still some sulphur under screwcap. Dry. Quince./ A little bite of SO2. Sec tendre–just. Really very dry and contrite due to sulphur presence. Air and age. I have full confidence. 16.3+.
WT110415-4. 14 SANCERRE, DOMAINE DE LA PERRIERE - (FRANCE LOIRE) 12.5%. Light sulphur. Gunflint. Shy, dry, compact. Deep lemon oil aroma after aeration./ Sulphur suppresses flavor and feel expressions. Some zing. Needs time to throw off its bonds. 16.4+.
WT110415-5. 14 POUILLY FUME VIEILLES VIGNES, REGIS MINET - (FRANCE LOIRE) 13%. Fuller, rounder, plumper. Peach and some tropical fruit. Old vines depth and material. Wow!/ Round, stone fruit pulp coats acidity in youth. Needs time again. 16.5+.
WT110415-6. 14 CHATEAU CAMPOT LAFONT, BORDEAUX - (FRANCE BORDEAUX) 13%; 50% merlot, 25% each cab sauv, cab franc. Clear and elegant 2014. Fresh and useful. Less body and ripeness than the last few vintages./ Yeah, a bit lean and narrow at this stage, if elegant. Had fans and buyers among the Europhiles. 15.2+.

Sweet sangiovese glycerol./ Yes, glycerol, and tannin grip to foil. Dried fruit flavor. Shows riserva barrel time. Can use or keep. Well liked by the group.16.6+.

In tune with the series./ Yes, the suavity of barrel aging. Ideal mellowness. Fine tannin. Very comfortable. Spot on. Very popular with the group.16.8+.
WT110415-12. 13 BEAULIEU VINEYARD NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON - (U.S.U.S.) 14.6%; est. 1900. Rich, bold, complete. Best in years. Massive, sweet, ripe fruit concentration to handle the oak. Almost syrup./ Power and richness take up all the oak. Some cabernet tannin. Though there’s a degree of Napa class and elegance, the emphasis here is clearly on weight, mass. 17.1+.

WT110415-14. 2013 BOUNDARY BREAKS OVID LINE NORTH VYD FINGER LAKES RIESLING - (U.S.) 10%; 3.3% RS; 4 clones; shale, lime, sandstone, mica soils. Kabinett style. Not much bouquet formation yet./ Good, classic flavor, acid, feel, balance, sweetness. 16.6+.
WT110415-15. EMILIO HIDALGO PEDRO XIMENEZ SHERRY - (FORTIFIED) 15%. Powerful in Taster glass. Classic. Power cuts the sweetness. Toffee, molasses, fig. No maple or raisin to this PX./ Yes, fig in particular. Sweetness overwhelms acidity. Cool it and use beside or over dessert. 17.7.
