Sonoma Valley cool fruit too. Elegant, balanced, composed./ Yes, a good balance of oak and rich 2012 fruit. Kudos to the winemaker. No drying tannins, so good now. 17.0+.

A year younger in age; two years younger in development. Fabulous 2010./ Yes, a ripe claret fruit set plus wood spices. Richness hides the power. Great balance all around. Fabulous. 17.1+.

WT052015-02. 14 SARDEGNA VERMENTINO COSTAMOLINO, ARGIOLAS - (ITALY) 14%. Clear, stony, peach, pear, melon. Cool vintage statements./ Yes, cool indeed. Malic, green appley. Understated stone fruits. Young and well balanced. Likely to gain more aromatics and roundness over the coming months. Good now with food. 16.3+.
WT052015-03. 14 TENSHEN SANTA BARBARA WHITE - (U.S.) 14.7%; viognier, roussanne, grenache blanc, chardonnay. Fatness of viognier and roussanne. Grenache blanc presence, power, size./ Palate sleeker. Power over unctuousness. Raw power without glycerol roundness. A bit top-heavy in alcohol. 16.3.

WT052015-05. 14 CERASUOLO D’ABRUZZO PIANE DE MAGGIO, AGRIVERDE - (ITALY) 12.5%; estate bottled. Always the nobility of montepulciano. Strawberry, raspberry, flowers. Zip./ Still understated on the palate. Just shipped. Some peels astringency. Not come hither yet. Give it a few weeks. 16.2+.
WT052015-06. 14 COTES DU RHONE ROSE, DOMAINE LES APHILLANTHES - (FRANCE MEDITERRANEAN) 12.5%. Delicate and light on its feet this vintage, with modest alcohol. Very useful early, whereas some previous vintages were better in fall. Fills and swells as it airs. Becoming a nose-ful now./ Cool, composed, confident. A willowy rendition in 2014. And, a good one as usual. 16.4.
WT052015-07. 13 SALMON CREEK CALIFORNIA PINOT NOIR - (U.S.) 12.5%. Oh, such a good, full, coastal pinot with 2013 frame, bulk, dryness. Real coastal pinot aroma. Great acid./ Yes, form, acid, flavor, cherry goodness, tannin, all. Wow! The best vintage of this. What a steal! 16.6+.
WT052015-08. 12 TABOR HILL LAKE MICHIGAN SHORE CABERNET FRANC - (U.S.) 12%. Deep, charry, cherry, black fruit. Brisk acid of the north. Fine ripe raspberry comes on. Complete. Another great vintage of this. Fine oak seasonings./ Racy and high acid like a Loire, plus the riper fruit, the oak, the suave texture. No tea, herb, green bean. 16.7+.

Tempranillo’s firm basis, graciano’s soft side, its allure. Well crafted./ Full acid. Satisfying body. Light oak. Low tannin. Wants food. 16.4.

ALV power and sweet fruit. 2013 framing. Fine oak. Deep and dynamic. Logical consummation of valley and vintage./ Wood and fruit and power. They all match up. Full, fine tannin. For steak now. Or cellar. 17.1+.

Well balanced, well crafted./ Sweet raspberry and peppercorn. Italianate dried fruits. Balanced and delicious. Logical Maremma syrah. 16.8+.
WT052015-15. 13 OPOLO SUMMIT CREEK PASO ROBLES ZINFANDEL - (U.S.) 15.5%; Paso Westside. Deep and sweet. Uber ripe, especially for Westside. Powerful, penetrating./ Sweet fruit and oak cremes. Peels extracts. Singed. Strong but not too. Walks the line. 16.7+.
WT052015-16. 13 KREUZNACHER KRONENBERG RIESLING SPATLESE, ST. ANTONIUS - (GERMANY) 9%. Neat and racy. Lots of mineral. Really well extracted in 2013. Kronenberg red earth, unique terroir. Deep and long./ Grip and material overwhelms the sweetness. Walnut husk. Coated acid in tandem with full extract. 16.6.
WT052015-17. 10 MERIDIAN VINEYARDS CHILLABLE CALIFORNIA RED - (U.S.) 11.5%. Still works. Red fruit, no oxidation. Sweetness controlled by good form./ Yes, sweet and wholesome, fresh fruit. Well balanced by good acid. Works well cold. 16.0.

Has a promising future./ Sweet and firm 2013 RRV pinot classic. The 2012 was much easier in youth. This is a power-packed keeper. 16.6+.

WT051315-17. 13 MOSEL RIESLING, CLEAN SLATE - (GERMANY) 10.5%. Bright acid ring. Brisk and Mosel like for sure. Etches nostrils. Riverside fullness./ Juicy acid, race, and sweetness in balance. Food riesling. 16.4.
WT051315-18. 12 ROBERTSON WINERY SPECIAL LATE HARVEST ROBERTSON GEWURZTRAMINER - (SOUTH AFRICA) 11%. Better than earlier, as well as cheaper. Just a trace of orange peel of bottle age. The gewurz character is omnipresent and insistent. Rose, ginger, lime./ A hint of Cape leather that works in with the rest well. Sweetish, with good astringent foil. 16.3.

Spicier too./ Suave and spicy. Medium bodied. A hard worker in 2013, offering plenty of flavor and texture. Will improve too. 16.3+.

WT050615-07. 13 MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO TAVERNELLO, CAVIRO - (ITALY) 12%. Good and sweet fruit. Rich and viscous. Fresh fruit too. Ideal for the price. Spicy./ Medium bodied. Good acid. A few months’ aging will achieve more depth and intensity on the palate. Pleasing now though. 15.6+.

Sweet fruit and creme. Good power./ Full, sweet, powerful. Rich, round fruit creme and oak creme, nut creme. A deal. 16.9.
