WT062619-02. 17 VOUVRAY CUVEE DE SILEX DOMAINE DES AUBUISIERES, BERNARD FOUQUET - (FRANCE LOIRE) 12.5%. More development. More honey More lime too../ Nectar and juicy citrus. Essentially dry. These estates seem to be moving away from sec tendre and closer to sec with each passing vintage. 16.3.
WT062619-03. 14 ETNA BIANCO ISOLANUDA, AZ. AGR. DESTRO - (ITALY) 12.5%. Full and warm fruited. Seems stronger than its 12.5%. Bulk and force. Nuts and dried fruits. Seems barrel aged too./ Again, the sense of time in barrel. Very clear headed. Ready for the table. Impressive stamina. 16.4.

Talks the grape varieties: syrah dark fruit, old vines grenache plump fruit./ Full and strong. Tannins coated by fruit richness. Fits the pattern. Popular with critics and consumers alike. 16.5+.

WT062619-12. 12 ODISEA THE TEMP CLEMENTS HILLS TEMPRANILLO - (U.S. WEST COAST) 14%. Riper and more advanced than Odisea's 2012 Gothic cuvee (carignane, grenache) tasted last week. Moving along to full maturity./ The palate is less developed and markedly tannic. Mixed messages. 14.5/15.8+?

WT061919-04. 17 COCHON OLD VINE CALIFORNIA ROSE - (U.S. WEST COAST) 12.7%; 60% cinsault, 30% carignane, 10% grenache. Fuller. Old vines stuff. Frank and forward./ Less push on the palate now. Aging a bit. 15.3.
WT061919-06. 14 VACQUEYRAS LES CALADES, DOMAINE LA MONARDIERE - (FRANCE MEDITERRANEAN) 13.5%; 60% grenache, 30% syrah, 10% cinsault. Good and full and variegated. Vacqueryas range, stature, uniqueness. Dark fruit of 14 has the concentration of a Gigondas. Full spread of the varietals plus terroi range./ Rich and round for 14, with plenty of fruit vigor and glycerol smoothness besides. Really giving. 16.7+. List price: $28.

Huge material!/ A mouthful. Rich in fruit, bouquet, texture, tannin, glycerol. Billowing. 17.3+. List price: $30.

Tells of first class barrel aging./ Fine bouquet of black fruit enhanced by the lovely bouquet of coming maturity. Again, the oak adds a lot of class and complexity. Full, fine tannin coated with ripe sangiovese glycerol. A really large and serious wine. 17.5. List price: $32.

WT061919-12. 13 AIRFIELD ESTATES LATE HARVEST YAKIMA VALLEY RIESLING half bottle - (U.S. WEST COAST) 9.6%; 20% residual sugar. Honey and nut, size and concentration. Fine carriage. Totally intense./ Yeah, beerenauslese concentration and sweetness coats its ice wine acidity. An over achiever in all respects. 18.9. List price: $24.

WT061219-01. 18 DOLOMITI PINOT GRIGIO SCHLOSSKELLEREI TURMHOF, TIEFENBRUNNER - (ITALY) 12.5%.Dazzles with green apple, stone fruit, grigio nuttiness./ Great acid, extract, minerality. This is full of energy. One of the best of the series and a great introduction to the 2018 Alto Adige biancos. Very popular with the group. 16.9.
WT061219-02. 18 TXAKOLI DE ALAVA XARMANT, ARABAKO TXAKOLINA - (SPAIN) 12.5%. Fresh and penetrating. Rich, and deliciously fruity./ Yes, rich as well as upbeat. Really delivers flavor and texture both. Fine acidity. Mineral salts finish. 16.7+.
WT061219-04. 18 MT. BEAUTIFUL NORTH CANTERBURY SAUVIGNON BLANC - (NEW ZEALAND) 14%. Initial sulphur maladies; reductive under screwcap. Airs to fine aroma of passion fruit and tangelo. Deep and persistent./ Medium bodied. Wears its strength well. Incisive citrus juice, pulp, pith, and peel flavors. Long lasting, cool and fresh, peachy aftertaste. Wow. 17

Creamy malo signs./ Yes, decidedly creamy malolactic fermentation achievement. Good underlying acidity and minerality. Medium body and fruit flavor intensity. In tune with the series save for more prominent malo influence. 16.4.
WT061219-06. 18 CHATEAU LE BERGEY, BORDEAUX - (FRANCE BORDEAUX) 13%; proprietor Gerard Laurent at Saint Loubes. Wow! So bright and right, spicy and vigorous./ Abundant, sweet, spicy black fruits. Complex and persistent, even insistent. Explores uncharted territory in young claret. 16.6+.

Touriga nacional magnified in the warm Alentejano setting./ Yes, fully packed and ultra generous. The range, the depth, and the concentration of a $30 wine. Well liked by the group. 17.1+.
WT061219-10. 16 BAROSSA VALLEY ESTATE BAROSSA VALLEY GSM - (AUSTRALIA) 14%; grenache, syrah, mourvedre; Wine Spectator 90/100. Rich, ripe, jammy, powerful Barossa take on Chateauneuf./ Yes, Barossa sweet and abundant. The multi-varietal cuvee lends greater flavor and texture ranges than in a straight Barossa shiraz. Easy to like. 16.3.
WT061219-11. 15 CANNONAU DI SARDEGNA COSTERA, ARGIOLAS - (ITALY) 14%. Ripe raspberry face of grenache, with peppercorn and even some Rhodanienne garrigue nuances./ Yes, this is measured and complex, and fully ripe this warm vintage. Distinctly Sardinian interpretation of grenache. One of the best vintages of this. Well liked by the group. 16.6+.
WT061219-12. 17 ITALIA ROSSO APPASSIMENTO CORTE FIORE, LUPI REALI - (ITALY) 14.5%. From central Italy, but what grape variety? I‛d suggest sangiovese. It has a sangiovese red cherry aroma that‛s really exaggerated by the appassimento process./ This is a sleeper, concentrated by the fruit drying process but not really sweet like some. Suave, smooth, with coated acid. A pleasing surprise for all. 16.4.
WT061219-13. 16 DRAMA BIG NAPA VALLEY RED - (U.S. WEST COAST) 14.5%; from Bordeaux varieties. Big, ripe, and oaky. Not particularly Napa complex or classy./ Yes, large, strong, frank, insistent. Wins with generosity. As intended. 16.5+.
WT061219-14. 16 BRAGANINI RESERVE LATE HARVEST TIERRA ALTO VINEYARD LAKE MICHIGAN SHORE VIDAL - (U.S. MICHIGAN) 11%; 6.5 RS. Pleasing vidal pear aroma. Pear in syrup./ Well concentrated and developing a honeyed bouquet. Good balancing acidity. 16.7+.
WT061219-15. 17 BRAGANINI RESERVE LATE HARVEST CRAZY 8 VINEYARD LAKE MICHIGAN SHORE VIGNOLES - (U.S. MICHIGAN) 11%; 8.5 RS. Some sulphur to start. Peach and honey aromas come forth with aeration./ Has the acidity to balance the greater sweetness. Overall, more-ish. Very successful pair. 17.0+.
