Big time performance from this class estate whose 1975 vintage I still have in my cellar./ Yes, Grand Cru like breeding and complexity. The sweet generosity of 2015's ripe fruit. The real deal. 16.9+.

WT122618-14. 17 COTES DU RHONE SAINT ESPRIT, DELAS - (FRANCE MEDITERRANEAN) 14%. This cuvee works well in 2017. The black fruit emphasis of a northern Rhone winemaker. It‛s still 2017 firm, but the fruit has amplitude. Yes./ Oh, yes indeed this is a full fruited presentation with a mineral edge. 16.6+.

Like many other 2012 North Coast red wines, it‛s maturing readily./ Sweet fruited and developing nicely from barrel and bottle age. Very suave, balanced, ample, all. This is a monster Chablis./ Yes, very large. Beginning to develop a toasty bottle bouquet. Seems barrel aged; likely not though. 17.6.

WT120518-05. 17 SANCERRE CHAVIGNOL, DOMAINE MATTHIEU DELAPORTE - (FRANCE LOIRE) 13.5%; at Chavignol; unfiltered; on flint and limestone. Wisp of sulphur at entry. Clears to show it‛s deep and flinty. Burnished. Good aroma push./ Both juicy and padded. Citrus pulp as well as juice. Full and lasting. 17.0+.
WT120518-06. 17 NAHE RIESLING TROCKEN, WEINHAUS DONNHOFF - (GERMANY) 12%. Aloof, compact, composed, confident. Grows in the glass. Tingly. Nahe riesling doesn't get any better than Donnhoff's./ Very dry, juicy, extract- and acid-laden. Huge feel and flavor. Food, please. 17.5+.

WT120518-09. 14 CHOREY LES BEAUNE LES BEAUMONTS, DOMAINE ARNOUX - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 13%. More concise, compact. Darker fruited. Has the goods. Just the compactness of 2014 in youth./ Again, the palate shows more sweetness and width. 2014 tannin, including some green tannin. Palate spreads out once again. Solid 14 with plenty of goods. Yet some suggest it may be a little corky.16.6+.
WT120518-10. 11 CHOREY LES BEAUNE LES BEAUMONTS, DOMAINE ARNOUX - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 13%. Dry and close. Maturing. Lacks filling and stamina./ Sweetness of maturity. Just undernourished all around by comparison. Not bad. Also suspected to be corked. I‛m not blind to that flaw, but others are more sensitive. 15.7.
WT120518-11. 10 CHOREY LES BEAUNE LES BEAUMONTS, DOMAINE ARNOUX - (FRANCE BURGUNDY) 13%. Richer, rounder, darker, deeper. Impressive 2010 structure and dark fruit. Plenty of bouquet development left to go./ And tannin to resolve. These really reflect vintage characteristics. Yes, the tannin spells plenty of age potential. 16.9+.
