- (SPARKLING) 12%; Proprietaire-Recoltant at Troissy; Orban left the co-op in 1960; sold his estate to another Champagne family in 2000. Well, that's 2008. More solid than liquid. Super toasty-mealy./ Jawbreaker concentration. Hard to swallow. Yikes! The beefeater's champagne. 17.9.

(WT122120-02) 19 ALTO ADIGE PINOT GRIGIO, CANTINA ANDRIANO  $15.99
12/21/20 Wednesday Group Tasting Notes
- (ITALY) 13.5%; est. 1893. Associated with Cantina Terlano. Terlano pinot grigio is grown on clay, Andriano on limestone. Ideal apple-nut-wax grigio aroma. High altitude brisk, with core of ripe fruit./ Rich and ripe and smooth. The acidity coated over but there, and it wells up in the back. Choose your course right, and this will be a complementary treat. The group was ecstatic. Many orders taken. 16.7.

- (CANADA) 13%; after pioneer winegrower Henry Smith of Pelham Road. Red violet color./ Lifted style with real baco character. Purple fruited. / Some RS it seems. Soft and sweetish, without as much varietal character on the palate. A change in style from the Henry baco noirs of yore. 16.4/15.9.

(WT122120-06) 19 ILLAHE WILLAMETTE VALLEY PINOT NOIR  $22.99
12/21/20 Wednesday Group Tasting Notes
- (U.S. WEST COAST) 13.5%; Chinook for land, earth, or soil; horse drawn basket pressed; barrel aged. The pinot substance is there, but it's shy compared to earlier, better vintages./ Yes, rather lean, washed out. Whereas the 19 Averaen surpassed 2019 expectations, this one reveals its shortcomings. 15.6+.
