(WT102820-06) 18 PIKE ROAD WILLAMETTE VALLEY PINOT NOIR  $18.99
10/28/20 Wednesday Group Tasting Notes
- (U.S. WEST COAST) 13.5%; by Elk Cove; from purchased grapes. Patricia Campbell was our very first Les Amis du Vin speaker. Her son makes the wines now./ Well, this is buxom. Fuller, darker, more powerful. A rich and rightful Oregon pinot contrasted from a California model./ Dark fruit. Some fine tannin. This will spread out more with bottle age. A bit compact for now. I like the balance, poise, potential. 16.4+.

(WT102820-07) 18 BARBERA DEL MONFERRATO MARAIA, MARCHESI DI BAROLO  $17.99
10/28/20 Wednesday Group Tasting Notes
- (ITALY) 13.5%; Heavy Bottle Award. Oh, this is a dark and deep one, exceptionally so for a Monferrato barbera. Maraia's usually easier going. This one's serious./ Well, it eases up a little on the palate. Remains dark hearted. And ambitious. Barbera black to the core. Very popular with the group. Orders taken. 16.4+
