(WT110718-04) 16 CHATEAU LAMOTHE CASTERA CUVEE MARGAUX, BORDEAUX  $15.99
11/07/18 Wednesday Group Tasting Notes
- (FRANCE BORDEAUX) 13%; 85% cab sauv, 15% merlot; Gold Medal - G&G. Lacks the ripeness of the warmer 2015 vintage's version of this wine. Cabernet sauvignon grown in this neck of the woods needs the heat./ Yeah, greenish taste too. This received a gold medal. What am I missing? Is it at an awkward stage? 15.3+?

11/07/18 Wednesday Group Tasting Notes
- (FRANCE BORDEAUX) 14%. Tight-knit, dry, traditional. Still 2010 firm. Not yet Saint Emilion giving. Flairs of oak enter the picture after aeration./ Well, Saint Emilion sweet fruit is evident on the palate. Yet to develop bottle bouquet at age eight. Well priced, but to get the full value, cellar it further. 16.6+.

- (SPAIN) 14%. Some green fruit here. Not a particularly good vintage of this. Usually richer, riper, more generous. Is the change of denominacion from La Mancha to Espana part of the story?/ Sweet, cheap, kinda juggy. Too bad. Ends a run of commendable vintages and values here. 14.2.
