WHITE BURGUNDY
CHABLIS
BURG-230. 08 CHABLIS FOURCHAUME 1ER CRU, R SEGUINOT
How Many bottles/singles: 29.99 each
BURG-231. 06 CHABLIS FOURCHAUME 1ER CRU, R SEGUINOT (Limited Stock)
How Many bottles/singles: 32.99 each
BURG-232. 06 CHABLIS MONTMAINS 1ER CRU, WM FEVRE Wine Enthusiast 93: ‘A wine that is pure green and steel, only just hinting at wood. It has a very direct taste profile of taut green fruits, layers of acidity, just spiced up with toast and vanilla. It’s obviously young, and should definitely be aged for 2-3 years.’
How Many bottles/singles: 38.99 each
BURG-233. 06 CHABLIS MONTMAINS 1ER CRU, MICHEL From 30-40 year old vines. Daniel Haas: ‘A riper nose than the village Chablis, with more weight on the palate and more mid-palate intensity. The flavors are your typical flinty, stone ones with white pepper and smoke along with lemon/lime. Good balance with a vanilla bean finish. 18/20.’
How Many bottles/singles: 23.99 each
BURG-234. 05 CHABLIS VAILLONS 1ER CRU, SIMONNET-FEBVRE Gorgeous, exuberant, brisk, deep, penetrating fruits with steely mineral base./ Rounded and expressive, with etched acid strength. Great minerality and steely frame. Classy and delightful. 93/100.
BURG-236. 06 CHABLIS VAUCOUPINS 1ER CRU, G PICQ Tanzer 93: ‘Knockout nose melds pineapple, grapefruit, white truffle, porcini and baked bread; smells like it saw some oak but it didn’t. Then wonderfully sweet and broad but with terrific grip to the citrus and mineral flavors; there’s a faintly exotic quality here but not at the expense of freshness or cut. Finishes wonderfully broad and long, with outstanding depth of
flavor. I find this accessible right now owing to its rich texture and captivating soil tones, but Picq assured me that his top ‘06s remain fresh in the recorked bottles for a solid week, which suggests that they will age slowly and well. $38'
How Many bottles/singles: 32.99 each
BURG-237. 07 CHABLIS DESSUS LA CARRIERE, G PICQ Parker 92: ‘From two sites that–as the wine’s name suggests–are underlain by stony chalk from Chichee’s quarry, the 2007 Dessus de Carriere is nothing short of sensational. Lemon, apple blossom, chalk dust, and white truffle in the nose lead to a palate strikingly and succulently possessed of the sweetness, salinity, and savor of fresh sea scallops, allied to a creamy texture
and luscious pineapple and grapefruit. This reverberates in a long, contrapuntal finish as if off of the quarry’s walls. It should be worth following for at least 5-6 years. ‘
How Many bottles/singles: 27.99 each
BURG-238. 05 CHABLIS VIEILLES VIGNES DOM ST CLAIR, BROCARD (Limited Stock) Nuttier, warmer, fuller. More oak in evidence. Wood toast. Plenty of depth to the aroma; 3-dimensional./ Yes, toasty, nutty, grainy oak. Full old vines fruit heft and concentration matches the oak component. Deep-penetrating, focused. Complex, balanced, well textured, stately, long. 93/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 29.99 each
EOBBURG-239. 04 CHABLIS VIEILLES VIGNES DOM ST CLAIR, BROCARD - End of Bin (Limited Stock) Very, very bright fruit. Rich cherry and almond paste aromas. Tremendous nose, really: lush and enticing, big and bold./ Rich and balanced and fruity. Very racy fruit acidity and lots of vitality. Has the richness and depth to warrant its ‘reserve’ title. Not as much about bananas and berries as the flower label stuff. Fine vintage
indeed. 90/100.
How Many bottles/singles: was 21.99 each, NOW End of Bin priced at 16.05 each
BURG-240. 06 CHABLIS, V DAUVISSAT Tanzer 89-91: ‘Ripe lemon drop on the nose along with mineral suggestions. In a fatter style than the Petit Chablis but with more accompanying energy too. This shows distinct iodine and oyster shell notes and rocky character. Finishes long and strong, with citrus peel flavors.’
How Many bottles/singles: 33.99 each
BURG-241. 05 CHABLIS, V DAUVISSAT (Limited Stock)

How Many bottles/singles: 24.99 each
BURG-243. 07 CHABLIS CHAMPS ROYALE, WM FEVRE Apple, quince, peel, calcaire, marl, flint. 07 sweet fruit too./ Bright, pointed acidity. Grip and tightness yet.. This was just shipped and may be a little reticent due to that. No problem. This has a lot of promise. 91+/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 21.99 each
EOBBURG-244. 04 CHABLIS, JADOT - End of Bin (Limited Stock)
How Many bottles/singles: was 27.99 each, NOW End of Bin priced at 20.43 each
BURG-245. 07 CHABLIS, R LAVANTUREAUX Oh, man! Full and broad and deep and significant as always. Maybe even more than as always. Very nutty. I think it’s mainly concentration rather than wood. Premier Cru stature./ Oh so rich! Mineral salts. Struck flint. Full extract, power, texture, concentration, weight. Nice and bright acidity too. The group was in awe. 93/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 24.99 each
BURG-246. 07 CHABLIS, LONG-DEPAQUIT My goodness! Crisp and penetrating. Cool and classic. Lovely northern chardonnay style. Plenty of calcaire./ Palate every bit as fulfilling and classic. Captures all that the nose promised. Textbook Chablis. Accomplished already. Brisk, tingly. Wonderful textural play. Chablis fruit and terroir surround and saturate the palate. Lingers long. Brilliant village Chablis. White wine of
the tasting. 93+/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 28.99 each
BURG-247. 06 CHABLIS, DOM NATHALIE & GILLES FEVRE
How Many bottles/singles: 28.99 each
BURG-248. 07 CHABLIS VIELLES VIGNES, G PICQ Well, this is bigger still than the regular Chablis as always,. And logically. It’s more backward too The traditional grip, material, and power of this cuvee./ Yes, old vines volume, largesse. Rich and right for keeping. 92+/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 26.99 each
BURG-249. 07 CHABLIS, G PICQ Parker 90: ‘The wines of Picq represent some of the most amazing values in Chablis, not only on account of the reasonable prices asked for their premier crus, but for the frequently premier cru quality exhibited by their trio of villages wines, a quality that is nothing short of astonishing in 2007. Picq’s 2007 Chablis smells of pear, freesia, almond, and shrimp shell reduction. Corresponding
flavors mingle with refreshing grapefruit on a velvet-textured palate. Bitter hints of black currant skin and citrus pips are subtly integrated into a long, lively, buoyant, infectiously juicy finish whose complex interplay of citrus, floral, and mineral elements is rare for Appellation Chablis.’
How Many bottles/singles: 22.99 each
BURG-250. 06 CHABLIS, G PICQ half bottle (H) (Limited Stock) Fresh, pure, and lovely Chablis chardonnay apple and lemon. Granny Smith, quince, and citrus peel. And some flint and calcaire tingle and grip too. Ventilating and well delineated./ Yes, so pure! Touch of cream. Great acid-glycerol, plumpness-cut interplay. Fabulous appeal. I guess it will age well enough, but I can’t resist it now. There may have been more
ambitious vintages, but none prettier. Well liked by the group. 92/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 10.99 each
EOBBURG-251. 04 CHABLIS, A RODET - End of Bin (Limited Stock) Malic and peptic. Aggressive acidity to start. This gets some relief with airing though. Then there are nice nuances of oak and cedar. Has a lot of nerve./ Very high acidity. Very tart. Mouthwatering. A bit much for even this acid freak. That said, it’s a great relief to find a white wine of this nature out there. Oysters, anyone? 89/100.
How Many bottles/singles: was 22.99 each, NOW End of Bin priced at 16.78 each
BURG-252. 08 CHABLIS, SEGUINOT-BORDET Yeah! Grip and extract of 08 Chablis. Calcaire saturated./ Hefty, weighty, textured, deep. Apple, quince, flint, calcaire. Cool and loaded. Amazing! Well priced! 92+/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 19.99 each
BURG-253. 08 CHABLIS VIEILLES VIGNES, SEGUINOT-BORDET Much more open and showier than at the trade tasting. 08 form and old vines fruit volume. Apple and calcaire and flint./ Old vines richness. A ‘sweet’ fruit aroma and flavor while dry to the taste. Plenty of old vines volume. Great balance. And flavor length. Significant. 93+/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 22.99 each
BURG-254. 07 CHABLIS LES PARGUES, DOM SERVIN Yow! Total greatness here. That rich 07 Chablis style with good old vines grip behind it. Lots of fruit, lots of tingle. Quince, calcaire, and flint./ Really 07 lush, in the context of Chablis. Plus great acid race. Fills the mouth with richness, acid etch, extract, everything. Right in tune with the style and quality of the series, with 07 individuality too. Wonderful stuff.
Well liked by the group. 92+/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 24.99 each
BURG-255. 06 CHABLIS, VERGET Ric: Subdued but flinty. Needs 1-2 years. 91/100.

BURG-259. 03 CORTON CHARLEMAGNE GRAND CRU, V GIRARDIN half bottle (H) Clive Coates: ‘Where are the best 2003 white burgundies? Corton-Charlemagne, and after that Chevalier-Montrachet, is the best of the grands crus. This is a very fine example. Rich and stylish, cool and pure. Intense and lovely. Full nose. Steely and racy. Lovely. From 2010.’ Our notes: Bright, ripe, and tangy, with aromas of apple, pear, lemon, and
tropical fruits. Large, solid, ventilating, attention-grabbing. The essence of clarity, elegance, and style./ Wow! Lovely grand cru refinement and latent power. Butter-rum oakiness and lemon fruit throughout. Must be one of the giants of the vintage. 96+/100.

EOBBURG-274. 04 MEURSAULT, J MATROT - End of Bin (Limited Stock) Full fruit and zesty Meursault airs of nut (Matrot’s often show walnut instead of hazelnut), autumn, grain, and meal. Shows style, finesse, and plenty of stone fruits./ Again, very bright. Great malic vigor of 04. Rich mineral base. Good oak toast, vanilla, and cream. Long and filling. 92/100.
How Many bottles/singles: was 36.99 each, NOW End of Bin priced at 27.00 each
BURG-275. 04 MEURSAULT, B MOREY Maturing. Very grainy. Not too old by any means.. Still shows the malic edge of 04, which supplies good keeping qualities./ Coming along nicely. Morey does Meursault well; his style. Definite malic edge of the vintage. Plenty of toasty oak. Lots of empyreumatic stuff. Dryness, leanness, and vigor of the vintage. Perfectly useful at the table now. Will appreciate with age another 1-2 years.

With air come citrus peel, oak spices, and elegant, lightly floral highlights./ Full, with the large frame and filling of a Chalonnais wine. Has real terroir oomph, plenty enough to handle the oak. How Many bottles/singles: 17.99 each
BURG-308. 05 BOURGOGNE COTES D’AUXERRE CORPS DE GARDE, GOISOT Lovely. Beautiful, sweet apple fruit. Not mealy-grainy like some vintages. Baked apple quality. Less obviously oaky than past efforts. POUILLY FUISSE
BURG-321. 05 POUILLY FUISSE LE CLOS REYSSIE, BRET BROTHERS Rich and full example of the AC, with plenty of Macon chardonnay lift and cut too./ Good stature, structure, depth, and importance of Pouilly Fuisse, the finest Maconnais blanc. Weighty, complex, and handsome. Cereal grain notes. Discreet use of oak befitting a Maconnais. 93+/100.
BURG-326. 07 POUILLY FUISSE TERROIR DE FUISSE, DOM ROMANIN I get some oak at the start. Others say not so. Research shows that a part of this cuvee is aged in 2-6 year old barrels, so there shouldn’t be much oak. I guess any oak in a Maconnais white triggers a response from me. I even smell it in unoaked wines. Anyway, there’s plenty of juice here too. Race. 07 fruit buoyancy. And terroir. There’s the extra fullness
of a Fuisse village wine./ Again, I note some oak. I mean, I like it. It adds dimension. And there’s plenty of fruit concentration. Really gives and gives at this price, which is more than fair for Pouilly Fuisse, especially village specific and domaine bottled. Very well liked by the group. 92+/100.

Not too much oak for the relatively delicate Macon chardonnay fruit to bear. Adequate acidity. However, the malo gives an overall soft approach. Distinctive, intriguing, lasting. 90+/100.

BURG-344. 07 MACON ROCHE VINEUSE, A NORMAND Great body and texture. Very large. Again, the barrel aged impression./ This is real Villages–larger scaled than basic Maconnais. Rich, ripe fruit of 07. Great, great framing. Incredible. Worth the premium. 92/100.

BURG-345. 07 MACON VILLAGES TRADITION, COLLOVRAY & TERRIER Yow! Rich and ripe on the approach, with astonishing power. Settles into a more reserved demeanor, showing stylish fruit and flower aromatics. Young, fresh, brisk appley Macon chardonnay./ And those damned oak like nuances in C&T and Deux Roches wines that fool me every time. Seem barrel aged but they’re not. Here’s vanilla coated fruit and some toast
and caramel. But the wine has never touched wood. Great fruit acidity, especially for 07. Both richness and refinement. Very bright. Still youthfully reticent but well balanced, so no problem. Runs deep too. Well liked by the group. 91+/100.

BURG-346. 07 MACON VILLAGES, J DROUHIN Crisp, juicy apple bite. Really quite malic for 07. Drouhin doesn’t make softies. Plenty of peel. Yes, wine of person and place more than vintage./ Rich, appley taste. Some bouquet development. Crisp, elegant, nicely textured, commendable. Full power. No aperitif. Needs mealtime fare. 90/100.

All fruit and delightful Macon terroir–Macon take on chardonnay. Nice, tender acidity. Well balanced. What a delightful, commendable vintage for this wine! And the price is nice. 90/100.

BURG-348. 08 MACON VILLAGES, L JADOT Firm and compact to start, it gets bigger, livelier, and more enticing with aeration. Apple, and touches of toast and butterscotch from the oak./ Some terroir, and a sensibly light measure of oak. Really quite a meaty Macon suggestive of Chalon instead. Shows both allure and finesse. Intriguing wine that is sure to have a future worth following. Liked by the group. 90+/100.
How Many bottles/singles: 13.99 each
BURG-349. 07 MACON VILLAGES, DOM TALMARD Full, with more prominent apple intensity of aroma. Appropriate. Seems to have more intensity than when last tasted, but it may just be in comparison to the aligote./ Boy, this is richer and fuller and stronger than when last tasted, for sure. Impressive presence. 91+/100.
