When you’ve been in the wine business as long as I have, it comes as no surprise when a customer evolves into a supplier. Importers like J. C. Mathes and Steve Grant. Winemakers like Clay Thompson and Bill Hatcher. It’s flattering to realize that I’ve supplied part of the inspiration. And the beat goes on. Willie Newman’s bought vineyard land in Paso Robles. And last year Jon Bullock started U.S. Wine Imports, based right here in town. Since the fall, I’ve featured a number of Jon’s wines on Wine Club sales, including the latest one. Jon’s asked me if he could be part of a Tasters Guild program, and right away I thought of the picnic. His portfolio is heavy in wines from Mediterranean Spain and France, and from central Italy. Toni Benjamin of Food For All Seasons loves to prepare foods inspired by these regions, so we have a hand-in-glove fit. Here's the MENU and WINE LIST: |
