This is a really great Pagani Ranch Zinfandel with its characteristic richness and exotic fruit quality. Made with 80% Zinfandel, 17% Alicante Bouchet, and 3% Petite Sirah the wine has a dark color and a deep perfume with plum and boysenberry fruit with a touch of spice and exotic nuances. Lush and rounded with a complex myriad of black fruit flavors accented by exotic spice it has a long finish with an underlying crispness. Delicious now, but the underlying acidity will integrate beautifully over time. Give it 5-10 years and it will be magical with a life well beyond.'

The 2015 Castel del Monte Chardonnay Preludio No. 1 is a nicely executed wine that shows the ongoing promise of white grapes from the ‘heel of the boot' of Italy. The bouquet offers exotic fruit and honeysuckle with stone fruit and melon. Those fruity tones are very lively and vibrant. In the mouth, the wine shows medium body and attractive creaminess. (N0313-102) 14 ELK COVE GOODRICH WILLAMETTE VALLEY PINOT NOIR  $47.99
U.S. Newly Available 03/13
Parker 92: ‘The 2014 Goodrich Pinot Noir is about 40% whole cluster this year, certain blocks 100% whole cluster and others destemmed. Maceration is via pumpovers with plunging only at the end of fermentation. It has a blackberry and briary scented bouquet with subtle earthy tones, nicely defined but tightly coiled at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with soft and supple texture and it is difficult to discern the whole cluster fruit, that is to say there is hardly any stemminess in this wine. Instead there is plenty of spice towards the finish with black pepper and clove notes infusing the black fruit. This delivers style and class and (of course) it comes recommended. $60.'
